It’s my childhood favorite dish, and here I sharing recipe the way My Mai(my mother) prepares in the stove-top. When I was a kid she uses to make crispy Gavar fry and serves with Bajrichi Bhakri(Millet Flatbread), I remember that taste today too. So Nostalgic!!

This crispy Cluster Beans Fry is very common in the Maharashtrian household. It goes well with any Indian flatbread. It is a simple and purely vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free side dish. It is a simple, quick, and easy side dish and I make regularly at home.
About Gavar/Cluster Beans:
  • Cluster beans are the smaller and flatter than the regular green beans.
  • Cluster beans are best when they are available fresh and tender.
  • Cluster bean seeds are dried and grounded into guar gum. This flour is used as a thickening agent instead of gelatin in ice-creams, cheese, and sauces.
  • It is also known as Gavar/Gawar or Guar Bean or Custer Beans.

WHAT IS AN AIR FRYER?
An air fryer is a kitchen appliance that uses convection to rapidly circulate hot air around food to cook and crisp it up.  It’s essentially a mini convection oven that fits perfectly on your countertop.

DO YOU HAVE TO PREHEAT AN AIR FRYER?
Yes, you need to preheat an air fryer when making dry roasted peanuts. Placing them in a hot basket helps give them a great crunch and speed up the process of roasting too.

Here’s why I love Air Fryer Gavar Fry:

HOW LONG DO I COOK GAVAR/CLUSTER BEANS IN THE AIR FRYER?
  • I’ve found that cooking for 9 minutes at 180 C / 360 F is perfect, however, all air fryers are different.
  • Give your Cluster Beans a good shake after 4-5 minutes.
  • Air Fry for 2 minutes at 400 F
  • Cluster Beans can go from almost done to burnt so it’s best to keep a close eye on them when air frying at 400 F.
