Air Fryer Crispy Corn | How to Make Crispy Corn in the Air Fryer

CRISPY NON-FRIED CORN - A PERFECT SNACK FOR MONSOON
Hello Foodies,
       We all love to munch on chatpata(tangy, spicy) roasted corn on the cobs/bhuta. And monsoon is the best time to devour this crispy corn with piping hot tea. These are totally guilt-free snacks to munch. In India, we can see stalls selling roasted corn on each side and corners of the road. Though we can easily make this at home, the fun to buy it from a road stall and enjoy it on a rainy day is totally different. Always make a big batch of crispy corn; otherwise, you will always fall short on it! 


      The recipe is super easy to make, keep in mind, coating of flour to corn kernels should be perfect as a sticky and lumpy coating will result in lumpy texture which won’t coom nice and crispy; otherwise, the recipe is super easy and quick to follow. The best thing about this recipe is that it can be made with frozen and fresh corn. I prefer to buy fresh corn on the cob, then remove the corn kernels from the cob and use them.

       Cooking crispy corn in the air fryer is easy, quick, and so delicious! If you want to eat healthy, tasty, crispy corn, air fryer is the way to go! The roasted and crispy flavors for sweet corn are so great. It’s an excellent option when you’re craving fried food. Air fried crispy corn is fantastic! The air-fried “roasted” flavors you get from the hot circulating air can’t be beaten. It’s so good! Give it a try!

         Corn can be used in many ways; you can make different types of curries and side dishes, simple and flavorful pulao, crispy snacks, or just Air fry them to make them crispy corn kernels.
Here are some corn recipes to try:
Preparation Time: 10 Minutes; Cooking Time 15 Minutes
Each Serving of Crispy Corn Contains 75 Cal.

Ingredients:
To Make Sweetcorn in the Air Fryer:
  • Sweet corn 1 cup 
  • Soya/Soy Sauce 1 Tbsp
  • Corn Flour 2 Tbsp 
  • Salt ½ Tsp 
  • Red Chili Powder 1 Tsp 
For Season Sweetcorn:
  • Red chili powder ½ Tsp
  • Chat Masala 1 Tbsp
  • Coriander leaves 2 tbsp, finely chopped
  • Lemon Juice 1 Tbsp 

Instructions:
To Air Fry Sweet Corn: 
  • In a bowl, add corn kernels, soya sauce, red chili powder, salt, and cornflour.
  • Mix everything well and coat the corn kernels with flour well(If it is powdery, add ½ or 1 tsp water).
  • Preheat Air Fryer at 350 F for 5 minutes.
  • Transfer the corn kernels to the baking pan lined with aluminum foil.
  • Spray few drops of oil and close the air fryer basket.
  • Air Fry at 350 F for 15 minutes stirring after every 5 minutes. 

To Season Sweetcorn:
  • Take out the sweetcorn in a bowl, perfectly crispy, and oil-free sweetcorns are ready to season.
  • In a mixing bowl, add air-fried sweetcorn, chat masala, red chili powder, coriander leaves, and lemon juice.
  • Mix everything well, and crispy corn is ready to munch on.
  • Serve it with piping hot tea. Enjoy!!!

How to Make Crispy Corn Without Air Fryer/ Deep Fried Method:
  • Add cornflour, red chili powder, salt. Mix all ingredients well, till sweet corn is coated. If it is still powdery, then add 1/2 or 1 tsp water.
  • Heat oil in a pan and drop the sweetcorn kernels in hot oil to fry.
  • Fry on medium to low flame for 2-3 minutes. 
  • Drain on a paper napkin to remove the extra oil.
  • Similarly, fry remaining sweetcorn.
  • In a mixing bowl, add air-fried sweetcorn, chat masala, red chili powder, coriander leaves, and lemon juice.
  • Mix everything well, and crispy corn is ready to munch on.
  • Serve it with piping hot tea. Enjoy!!!

Tips and Substitutes:
  • There is no need to add water, but if the flour is not sticking on the corn, just sprinkle a few drops of water.
  • Instead of cornflour, you can use arrowroot too.
  • Instead of soy sauce, you can use white vinegar.
  • To make it crispy, you can add 1 Tbsp Rice flour too.
