How to Make Ethiopian Spice Mix(Ethiopian Berbere Spice)

The Berbere Spice mix is the main ingredient in various Ethiopian dishes. It is a wonderfully tasty homemade version of a berbere spice mixture that's a staple in Ethiopian, Eritrean, Djiboutian, and Somalian Kitchens. This vibrant spice mix makes an excellent addition to Doro Wat/roasted Ethiopian chicken.

Each Serving of Berbere Spice Mix(1 Tbsp) Contains 21 Calories.
Ingredients:
- 5 Tbsp Smoked Paprika 42 g
- 2 Tbsp Cayenne Pepper 12 g
- 2 Tsp Ginger Ground/Powder 3 g
- 2 Tsp Onion Ground/Powder 3 g
- 1 Tsp Fenugreek Ground 2 g
- 1 Tsp Coriander Powder 2 g
- 1 Tsp Ground Cardamom 2 g
- 1 Tsp Ground Cinnamon 2 g
- ½ Tsp Ground Cloves 1 g
- ½ Tsp Ground Allspice 1 g
- ¼ Tsp ground nutmeg 1 g
Instructions:
- Place the ground nutmeg, allspice, cloves, cinnamon, cardamom, coriander, fenugreek, ginger, paprika, cayenne pepper, and onion into a blender jar.
- Pulse together until thoroughly mixed.
- Berbere Spice mix to make delicious Ethiopian Stews and Curries. Enjoy!!!
- Store in an airtight container(preferably glass) in a cool, dark, dry place.
