What is Avocado Naan Pizza?

Naan pizza is simply naan bread that’s topped with pizza toppings like Avocado sauce and cheese. Our version of naan pizza is breakfast/lunch/snack/light dinner friendly as it’s topped with all your favorite breakfast toppings like avocado, tomatoes, and more!

I recommend making double the amount of this oil-free avocado spread, then you just top naan/roti with whipped avocado and your favorite pizza toppings. There are loads of fresh avocados in the market these days and I’ve been using them generously in my cooking. This vibrant and nutrient-dense Avocado Pizza has been on my list of things to try and I finally got around to making it. A colorful and delicious meal is a celebration of fresh, seasonal produce and is definitely worth a try. You can’t go wrong with this naan pizza recipe featuring delicious and creamy Avocados from Mexico, cherry tomatoes, spicy jalapeno, and so much more. Pair it with this vegan avocado milkshake that’s made with vegan protein powder, avocado, and almond milk!

Which Flatbreads works well for this recipe?

I have used Naan/Roti, but you can use any type of flatbread, like-

Preparation Time: 10 Minutes.

Ingredients:

To Cook Black Beans in the Instant Pot:

  • 1 Cup Black Beans Soaked in water for 5-6 hours
  • 1 Tsp Ground Cumin
  • 1 Tsp Salt
  • 4 Cups Water

To Prepare Avocado Spread/Avocado Pizza Sauce:

  • 2 Avocados, Ripe
  • 1 Jalapeno, seeded
  • ¼ Cup Coriander/Cilantro
  • 1 Tbsp Nutritional Yeast
  • Lime Juice from ½ lime
  • ½ Tsp Cumin Powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • 4 Roti/Naan

Toppings for Pizza:

  • Black Beans
  • Sweetcorn
  • Cherry Tomato
  • Jalapeño,
  • Green Bell Pepper

Instructions:

To Cook Black Beans in the Instant Pot:

  • Soak Black Beans in the water for 5-6 hours.
  • Wash soaked beans under tap water until water runs clear.
  • Transfer the beans into the pot and add 2 cups of water
  • Add 1 tsp ground cumin and 1 tsp salt to taste.
  • Turn on the instant pot and add 2 cups of water.
  • Place the trivet and the bean pot.
  • Close the lid and place the vent on the sealing position.
  • Now, Pressure Cook on Manual Mode(Hi) for 6 minutes.
  • NPR for 10 minutes and then release the remaining pressure manually.
  • Take the bean’s pan out and drain the water from the beans and let it cool.

To Prepare Avocado Spread/Avocado Pizza Sauce:

  • Add avocado, Coriander leaves, lime juice, nutritional yeast, cumin, pepper, and salt to a food processor/blender.
  • Blend/Pulse until smooth, creamy, stopping to scrape down the sides a few times, and add oil and pulse again.
  • If you’d like to make your dressing a little bit thinner, just add a little more oil.
  • Keep in an airtight container for 2-3 days.
  • If the dressing is too thick, simply add water one teaspoon at a time to thin it out to the desired consistency.

To Make Avocado Roti/Naan Pizza:

  • Spread prepared avocado spread onto each roti/naan (you can use more or less if desired).
  • Now, top it with toppings like black beans, sweetcorn, cherry tomato, jalapeno, and green bell pepper.
  • Slice and enjoy nutritious and healthy Avocado Naan Pizza. Enjoy!!!

Tips, Substitute/Variation:

  • You can add regular yogurt or Greek yogurt or sour cream to make avocado pizza sauce creamier.
  • I’d recommend keeping it in the fridge for 1-2 days for freshness.
  • Thin the sauce and use it as a salad dressing, thin it by adding water until it reaches the desired consistency, and I haven’t used water as we like it thick and creamy.
  • If you like, you can add garlic 1 clove, but remember garlic has a strong smell, so recommend roasting it first.
  • If you don’t like cilantro, then try with basil, mint, or dill. They will work well!
  • You may substitute olive oil with either rice bran oil, til oil, or canola oil.
