Fondant Tutorial: Santa and Elf Christmas Cupcakes

Santa and elf on the shelf cupcakes are perfect, delicious and sweetest cupcakes that will please everyone. These cupcakes are topped with a dollop of buttercream and decorated using fondant. It's a welcome holiday dessert. Do it yourself these super easy fondant Santa and elf on the shelf toppers. They are so simple, looks adorable and you can even get your kids in the mix. These edible cupcake toppers are so pretty and tastier. These are perfect for Christmas dessert table. Santa Claus and Elf on the shelf cupcake topper made them an excellent choice for parties and are so easy to make this Christmas. So let's start.

Ingredients:

  1. Cupcakes
  2. Buttercream frosting
  3. Fondant (red, flesh, green, white and black)
  4. Cookie cutters
  5. Icing tip
  6. Rolling pin
  7. Corn flour to roll fondant

Instructions:

  1. To make Santa's Cupcakes:
    1. Roll flesh or red colored fondant and using round cookie cutter cut the circle and glue on the top of the frosted cupcake.
  2. To make Santa's beard: 
    1. Roll white fondant and using cutter cut the circle and divide into two parts. Cut some triangles out of white fondant and trim the edges. Use nozzle to indent Santa's mouth.
    2. Glue the beard to the prepared cupcake.
  3. To make Santa's nose: 
    1. roll a pea-sized piece of pink fondant and glue it.
  4. To make Santa's eyes:
    1.  roll white fondant and using a round icing tip cut the two small circles. 
    2. Add black fondant to the white and glue the eyes.
  5. To make Santa's hat: 
    1. Roll out red fondant circle and cut away part
      of the circle and glue the hat and draw a line in the hat. 
    2. Roll out white fondant strip and glue to the edge of the hat.
  6. To make elf on the shelf Cupcakes:
    1. To make a face: 
      1. roll out a circle of pink or flesh-colored fondant. Use nozzle to indent mouth.
        To make nose: roll a pea-sized piece of pink fondant and glue it at the center of the cupcake.
    2. To make the hat: 
      1. Roll out red fondant circle and cut away part of the circle and glue the hat. Roll out red fondant strip and glue strip to the edge of the hat.
    3. To make ear:
      1.  Roll out 2 pink colored teardrop shapes and flatten it and draw a small line on each ear. 
      2. Glue the ear and eyes.

In 1822 Moore wrote a poem for his daughters called "The Visit from Saint Nicholas" In this poem a tiny elflike creature runs about on Christmas Eve delivering presents.
