How to Make Homestyle Crispy Aloo Wafers(Potato Chips)/Potato Fryums in Air Fryer

     Crispy, addictive, and light sun-dried potato fryums/chips fried in the air fryer and that is simply delicious and perfect as a snack or if you are fasting(religious fasting). There's no need to set up a deep fryer to make great potato chips the Air Fryer is just fine.

      Potato Chips are everyone's favorite and they are made in different ways. One of the ways is boiling the chips and then sun drying them and then frying the chips. This method is used to make chips that can be stored for year long and they are ready to fry whenever one wants to eat. Making potato chips in the air fryer is simple and easy. Guaranteed they won't last long!

You only need 5 minutes and 3 ingredients, dried potato chips/fryums, red chili powder, and salt to make these crispy, crunchy, addictive potato chips. Eat them plain or with your favorite fasting dish like Sabudana Khichdi/Air Fryer Potato Fries! Preparation and Cooking Time: 5 Minutes.

Ingredients:

  • Dried Potato Katri Fryums 2 Cups
  • Few drops of oil to spray
  • Red chili powder 1 Tsp to sprinkle(optional)
  • Salt to taste

Instructions:

To Air Fry Potato Fryums:

  • Preheat Air Fryer at 390 F for 3 minutes. 
  • Spray some oil over the dried pipe fryums/bobby. 
  • Transfer oil greased Potato Katri Fryums in the air fryer basket. 
  • Close the basket and air fry the Potato Katri fryums @390 F for 2 minutes(you can hear the sounds of frying potato fryums). 
  • Once done, open the basket, and fully puffed up-potato fryums are ready to munch on. 
  • If air frying ahead of time, fry them and place in an airtight container.
  • Sprinkle some red chili powder and salt and serve with a cup of tea or enjoy it as a side dish with Sabudana Khichdi, Crispy potatoes. Enjoy!!!

Stovetop Method:

  • Heat enough oil in a wide pan.
  • When the oil is hot add some sun-dried potato chips and fry on medium heat. 
  • Drain on a paper towel to remove the excess oil.
  • Sprinkle a dash of chili powder and salt and serve. Enjoy!!!
My Take:

  • You can add any spice of your choice to the fried chips, you can add dry mint powder, mango powder, black salt, roasted cumin powder, dry tomato powder, chat masala on fried chips to enhance the flavor.

Dietary Comment:

  • The calorie count based on a 2000 calorie diet.
  • Per serving contains 45 calories, along with 8.7 g carbohydrates, 1.2 dietary fiber, and 1.1 g protein.
  • Portion size can always be increased or decreased depending on your health goals and activity level.
