Welcome to unboxing and review of KitchenAid Stand Mixer with food processor attachment! Here you can find how it works and how to use it. This attachment works with all models of KitchenAid Stand Mixers. I got a stand mixer a few months back and have been looking into accessories for it. I knew I wanted the food processor most of all, first. And now, I love this excellent kitchen appliance. I am amazed at how fast and most effortless chopping, shredding it is. These can chop through hard and soft foods alike with ease.

A food processor is a versatile kitchen appliance that used to prepare ingredients by quickly chopping, kneading, shredding, and slicing. We find this a smart pick for big families or those who often entertain. Owning this food processor attachment saved me from having to do tons of tedious and tiring prep work(like shredding pounds and pounds of carrots to make Carrot Halwa). I love the versatility of changing the thickness without changing the blades. That's an interesting touch. It worked fantastic for shredding the carrots. I shredded the 2 lbs carrots in less than 5 minutes and made this dreamy and delightful Carrot Halwa!

The beauty of this food processor is that the food drops straight down into a bowl. The dicing feature is something I have never seen on other food processors, but this one having it. This feature is convenient. Another plus point is that you have more control over processing speeds than others. It is best for bulk processing. So if you own a KitchenAid Stand Mixer, I would highly recommend adding this attachment to your inventory. This is my #1 favorite KitchenAid Food Processor Attachment for KitchenAid Stand Mixer. All I can say is, wow!

Two quick start guides

This is an attachment assembly that goes into the head of the stand mixer. There is an adjustable slicing disc control on the side(it's marked with the picture, for the thicker and thinner slices). This is the liner that goes into the assembly and the lid. The lid has a large food pusher and a small food pusher.

What makes it a good food processor?

It helps whole or large pieces of carrots, onions, potatoes, and herbs and blitzes them into uniform pieces in very little time. So look for a model that has blades for slicing foods like tomatoes.

Instructions to Shred/Grate the carrot using KitchenAid Food Processor Attachment:

Peel, wash, and pat dry the carrots and cut the ends and keep aside.
Meanwhile, mount the KitchenAid Food Processor Attachment fitted with the fine shredding disc onto the power hub of the Stand Mixer.
Place a medium bowl below the attachment.
Place the carrot into the Food Processor Attachment feeding tube then use the food pusher to feed all the carrots into the tube and shred them.
Shred them on a 4-6 speed or medium speed.
You can use the adjustable Slicing Disc Control to shred the carrots fine, medium, or large as you like.

Tips to Shred / Grate Carrots using KitchenAid Food Processor Attachments:

You can shred the carrots ahead of time.
Carrots can be shredded up to 2 days ahead of time and stored refrigerated in an airtight container.
Cut/trim carrots to fit the feed tube vertically and pack a feed tube securely to keep food positioned properly.
Position food vertically in the tube and use the small food pusher to process food.
If a piece of hard food, such as a carrot, becomes wedged or stuck on the blade, stop the mixer and remove the blade. Gently remove food from the blade.
Different foods require varying degrees of pressure and speed for optimal results.
