How to make Yeast Free Pizza?
Make a dough using whole wheat flour, baking powder, salt, flaxseeds, oil, and yogurt. After mixing up the dough, I covered and let it rest until the preparation of topping. The dough rolled out so nice, I was able to roll it very thin, next time I would. I preheated the oven to minutes while making up the dough. I placed the rolled out dough on parchment paper, 425 F and topped with sauce, cheese, and pepper, corn, onion, and mushrooms. Baked for 18 minutes at 425 F. Given ingredients make one pizza, you can double or triple the recipe.

Whole Wheat Flour:
100% whole grain, whole wheat flour is what this recipe was tested with. If you’d like to make a pizza crust with all-purpose flour instead, here is my regular pizza crust recipe.

Yogurt:
Yogurt is an excellent dairy to bake with. Because of its acidity, yogurt reacts with baking soda/powder to encourage leavening and adds nice, tangy tastes. Over-stirring yogurt may cause it to break down and thin out. Never vigorously stir, whisk or beat yogurt. Instead, fold it into your recipes to maintain its rich and creamy consistency.

Flaxseeds:
The addition of flaxseeds is an excellent way to obtain the healthy constituents found in flax and this makes your pizza or baked foods more nutritious. Also, when ground flaxseed is used instead of other fats, baked goods tend to be denser and brown more rapidly. Ground flaxseeds are a good substitute for some of the oil in a ratio of 3 parts flaxseed to 1 part oil.

EV Olive Oil:
Extra virgin olive oil gives this pizza crust the best taste. You’ll also line your bowl with olive oil as the dough rises and brush your dough with olive oil before layering on the toppings. This prevents the crust from getting soggy from the toppings.

Salt:
Salt gives the pizza crust a little flavor. Pizza dough without salt tastes bland regardless of the toppings. 1 teaspoon is perfect.

Cornmeal:
The main reason you sprinkle cornmeal onto the bottom of your pizza pan is so that the pizza won’t stick to the bottom of the pan/parchment paper/aluminum foil. It gives the pizza crust a little flavor and crispy texture as well. You could just use flour to dust the pan, but you’ll lose the flavor cornmeal provides.

Preparation Time: 10 Minutes; Baking Time: 18 Minutes.

  • Baking powder 1 Tsp
  • EV Olive oil 1 Tbsp
  • Water as needed
Toppings:
  • Mozzarella cheese ½ cup
  • Pizza Sauce ¼ cup
  • Green pepper, sliced
  • Red Bell Pepper, sliced
  • Corn
  • Onion, sliced
  • Mushrooms
  • Red chili flakes
  • Oregano

Instructions:
To Make Dough:
  • In a bowl add whole wheat flour, baking powder, salt, and ground flaxseeds and mix all well.
  • Now add yogurt and knead to make a pliable dough.
  • Add water as needed and make the pliable dough(Knead for 3-4 minutes.
  • Now, add oil and knead the dough and keep aside until toppings are ready.
  • Meanwhile slice onion, pepper, mushrooms(or you can use meat instead of veggies too) and keep it ready.

To Roll/Flatten the Dough:
  • Preheat oven at 425 F(200 C).
  • Sprinkle some cornmeal (you may use whole wheat flour or oil too) over the aluminum foil-lined baking tray.
  • Flatten the dough with your hand or use a rolling pin, starting at the center and working outwards, turn and stretch the dough and make a thin as you want.
  • Continue to roll until it reaches the desired diameter of 10 to 12 inches.
  • Spread pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese, and the toppings on the flattened dough i.e. green and red pepper, corn, onion, mushrooms and a generous amount of cheese.
To Bake the Pizza:
  • Bake pizza at 425 Fahrenheit for 18 to 20 minutes or until the crust is browned and reached your desired level of crispiness.
  • Here, no yeast, no baking soda, no proof, delicious, healthy and homemade pizza is ready to serve.
  • Remove the pizza from the oven, then sprinkle chili flakes and oregano and slice and serve yeast-free Pizza. Enjoy!!!

To Make Pizza Without Oven/Stovetop Method:
  • Preheat the pan on medium to low flame for 4-5 minutes.
  • Once the pan has heated, carefully transferred the flattened pizza dough into the pan and cook for about 1 minute until you see bubbles forming on the dough and the edges getting slightly golden.
  • After the one minute, flip the dough over using a spatula. Then spread the pizza sauce over the dough and sprinkle the cheese and add the prepared toppings.
  • Cover the pan and turn down the heat so that the cheese can melt and the toppings can cook.
  • Cook for 6-7 minutes on low flame. Leave the pan covered for 5 minutes. After the five minutes are up, take the lid off the pan. If the cheese has melted and the bottom of the pizza looks golden brown, the pizza should be done. If not, place the lid on the pan and check every minute or so until the pizza is ready.
  • Remove the pizza from the pan, then sprinkle chili flakes and oregano and slice and serve yeast-free Pizza. Enjoy!!!

My Take:
  • For the dry dough, add a little more water.
  • Roll the dough even thinner to get a crispy crust like restaurants.
  • You can add garlic powder and oregano to the dough.
  • You can choose your topping as per your taste and likings.
