           Rakshabandhan is around the corner and to celebrate this festival try this instant, easy and no sugar besan laddu recipe. These are one of the popular ladoos often made during festive occasions like Diwali, Raksha Bandhan, Ganesh Chaturthi and Navratri. These laddus are made up of using just 3 main ingredients and in 20 minutes. Ingredients mainly used are chickpeas flour or besan flour, ghee and condensed milk. Besan ladoos are delicious Indian sweet, commonly gifted during celebrations. So let's start with the recipe.

Ingredients :

  1. Gram flour 1 cup
  2. Sweetened condensed milk 1 cup
  3. Ghee / Butter ¼ cup + 1 tbsp
  4. Almonds for garnishing (optional)

Recipe :

  1. In a bowl add 1 cup of gram flour / Besan and 1 tbsp ghee.
  2. Mix Besan and ghee well and rub this mixture between your palms to give it a flaky texture. (It requires 2 to 3 minutes)
  3. After mixing well, pass this through a sieve to make coarse powder, like
    breadcrumbs.
  4. Meanwhile, turn on a flame and place a kadhai or pan and heat ¼ cup of ghee.
  5. Now add sifted flour into the ghee and mix well and keep roasting it.
  6. Stir continuously until it start combining and start loosening ghee and it will keep darkening its color to brown.
  7. Now, add 1 cup of condensed milk and mix all well by stirring, turn off flame, when all the milk is absorbed, and let it cool.
  8. After a few minutes divide it into equal portions and make small balls and garnish with almonds.
  9. Here, sweet, flavorsome Besan Ladoos are ready to serve. Enjoy!!!

My Take :

  1. Besan has a stubborn flavor, if it still gives a raw taste, then you can add more ghee and roast for few more minutes (But add ghee before adding Condensed milk).

Dietary Comment :

Based on a 2000 calorie diet.
Per serving contains 120.5 calories, along with carbohydrates - 13.6 g, fats - 5.9 g, proteins - 3.34 g.

                It's good to eat Besan Ladoo as a dessert or for snacks.
