Corn Uttapam


Hello Foodies,
I have tried to make a uttapam with fresh sweet corn kernels. The best part is that the corn uttapam can be made in no time at all, as it requires no soaking or fermen
tation and grinding time is also very less. It will be loved by all. Corn Uttapam made from corn and gram flour or besan; rice flour are crispy, tasty, super yummy and easy. Give it a try!


Preparation Time : 5 Minutes ; Cooking Time : 10 Minutes ;

Total Time : 15 Minutes.


Ingredients :
  1. Corn boiled 1 cup
  2. Gram flour ½ cup
  3. Green chillies 5 strips
  4. Salt 1 tsp
  5. Coriander leaves ¼ cup, chopped
  6. Onion 1 small, chopped
  7. Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  8. Garlic cloves 3
  9. Rice flour 1 tbsp
  10. Turmeric powder ¼ tsp
  11. Water ¼ cup ( or as per required to make batter)
  12. Veg. oil for smear the uttapam
Recipe :
  1. Grind the sweet corn kernels, gram flour, rice flour, salt, green chillies and garlic in a mixer till smooth add water to make batter.
  2. Transfer the sweet corn mixture into a bowl, add all the remaining ingredients i.e., coriander leaves, chopped onion and cumin seeds, turmeric powder and mix well to make a batter of dropping consistency.
  3. Heat a non-stick tava and grease it using a little oil. Pour a ladleful of the batter on the tava and move the spoon in a circular motion to make a round uttapam.
  4. Now, smear a little oil around the edges and cook on a medium flame till the uttapam turns light brown in colour from both the sides.
  5. Repeat with the remaining batter to make more uttapams.
    Here, corn or sweet corn uttapam is ready to serve. Serve it with coconut chutney or green chutney. Enjoy!!!
