How to Make Green chili chutney / Thecha / हिरव्या मिरचीचा ठेचा / खरडा

Thecha or kharda or green chilies chutney is an authentic Maharashtrian recipe. it tastes absolutely delicious and it served with jowar or Bajra bhakri (roti). It is extra spicy green chili and garlic chutney which is loved by every Maharashtrians. Thecha is made in each and every Marathi family in different ways. Some people make it with onion, peanuts, coconut, some people just make it with chilly and raw garlic. The only chilly raw garlic version of thecha or kharda is very spicy.


Preparation Time: 5 Minutes; Cooking Time: 5 Minutes ;
Total Time: 5 Minutes.
Ingredients :
  1. Green chilies 10 strips
  2. Salt 1 tsp
  3. Garlic 9 cloves
  4. Veg. Oil ½  tbsp


Recipe :
           Heat ½  tbsp oil in a tava or pan. Add Green chilies and garlic. Stir continuously till they become soft and have brown spots on them. Take it off the heat and grind them together by using a flat base bowl or pela by adding salt to taste. ( You can grind this mixture coarsely into a grinder or can grind this mixture with the help of mortar and pestle.) For extra flavor, you may squeeze some fresh lemon juice in it.
Here, spicy, tasty kharda, thecha or green chili chutney is ready to serve. Serve with adding ghee over thecha with bhakri or chapati or roti. Enjoy!!!
