Bhel / healthy Puffed Rice - How to Make Oli Bhel

Hello Friends,
Bhel is a simple, spicy light crunchy evening snack recipe! This is a popular snack or chaat in India. Everyone has her/his own twist to make bhel, but two main ingredients remain the same, that is puffed rice (murmura) and fine sev. Bhel is a low-fat, nutritious, delicious snack!

Preparation Time: 15 Minutes; Cooking Time: 10 Minutes
Total Time: 25 Minutes.
Ingredients :
  1. Puffed rice 4 cups
  2. Peanuts 14
  3. Veg. Oil 2 tbsp
  4. Garlic cloves 9
  5. Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  6. Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  7. Curry leaves 4 g
  8. Turmeric powder 1 tsp
  9. Salt 1 tsp
  10. Red chili powder 1 tbsp
  11. Asafoetida 1 pinch
Recipe :
  1. Dry roast puffed rice on low to medium flame in a pan for about 3 to 4 minutes. Remove it into another bowl. Puffed rice (murmura) loses some of its crispness with time. Roasting restores the crispness and freshness.
  2. Now, add 2 tbsp oil into the same pan and roast peanuts and garlic. Roast till it gets the brown color or till cook well. Remove it and place it into a puffed rice bowl. Let it cool.
  3. Meanwhile, in the same pan add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt and pinch of asafoetida. Let it flutter. Now add This into puffed rice bowl mix all well. Here, tasty, spicy, crunchy Bhel or badang is ready to serve. Serve it by adding chopped onions, coriander, tamarind chutney, sev, papdi and all makes it all of us favorite Bhel. Enjoy!!!

Ingredients :
  1. Bhel 2 cups
  2. Sev ¼  cup
  3. Papdi ¼ cup
  4. Onion 1 small, chopped
  5. Coriander leaves ¼ cup
  6. Salt ½ tsp
  7. Red chili powder ½ tsp
  8. Tamarind pulp or chutney 2 tbsp
  9. Lemon juice 1 tbsp

Instructions:
          In a bowl add Bhel, sev, papdi, chopped onion, coriander leaves, salt red chili powder mix all well. Now pour tamarind chutney, lemon juice mix well and here bhel chaat or Oli Bhel is ready to serve. Enjoy!!!
