( DIY Homemade Puff Pastry Sheets - Easy, fastest way to make puff pastry sheets )

Hello Everyone,
        A flaky turnover filled with veggies. A bite of puff pastry filled with paneer. All these delicious treats start right here, with this dough recipe. Yes, you can buy puff pastry from the store, but homemade is always better than buying from any store. So here is the easy recipe to make puff sheets, you can make it yourself at home with minimal efforts. They require so simple ingredients such as flour, water, butter, and greatness comes. Here's everything you need to know to make puff pastry from scratch.
        Here is my technique for making this puff sheets in an easy manner. I got this idea or technique from my Aai (Mother), as she used to prepare pudachi karanji, then I thought why not to try this recipe to make multilayered, flaky pastry sheets. So I tried it and I am happy to share the impressive results with you all, as it came out very well. Since I learnt making pastry sheets, I stopped to buy it from store.  DIY, as it is very easy, effortless and fastest way to make your own puff pastry sheets.!




Preparation Time : 20 Minutes ; Proofing Time : 90  Minutes ;
Total Time : 110 Minutes.

Ingredients :
  1. All purpose flour 2 ½ cup
  2. Salt 1 tsp
  3. Lemon juice 1 tbsp
  4. Butter 1​2 tbsp
  5. Cold water

Recipe :
  1. In a mixing bowl add all purpose flour, salt, lemon juice and 2 tbsp butter mix all well and knead a soft dough by adding cold water. Knead for 4 to 5 minutes to make a soft dough. Cling wrap and keep dough aside for 30 Minutes.
  2. After 30 Minutes, divide this dough to equal portions ( I made 21 equal size balls from dough) and with the rolling pin roll the dough in rectangular or circular motion, now spread the butter (at room temperature) over each layer of rolled dough with the help of spatula and take another rolled dough place it over first one and do the same for remaining rolled dough (as shown in the video).
  3. Cover the rolled dough with Clingfilm and put in freezer for 60 minutes. After 60 minutes remove cling wrap and roll out dough as shown in video. Cut out the edges.
  4. Here, homemade, multi layered, flaky Puff Sheets are ready to bake. Enjoy!!!

Based on a 2000 calorie diet.
Per serving contains 141.37 calories, along with carbohydrates - 14.97 g, dietary fiber - 0.58 g, fats - 8.19 g, proteins - 2.18 g.



Tips :
  1. These homemade puff pastry sheets can be frozen too. Take them out from the freezer the night before you want them and leave to defrost and rise.
