Green Peas Masala Puri: Tasty Breakfast Recipe

         Sunday started with our favorite breakfast, green peas-masala puris. We love Sunday breakfast, and it should be like this! You can have flavourful, fresh green peas-masala puris in less than 30 Minutes. If you want to try something different or fancy that your kid and the whole family will love, then try this green peas puri. A hearty breakfast that’s guaranteed to be a family favorite. You can prepare the dough ahead and roll and fry puri before lunch or dinner. It kicks lunch/dinner up a notch with minimal effort. Just the hint of carom seeds boost the flavor in this quick and versatile dish. You can serve it with all your favorite curry. These puris can make a satisfying and delicious breakfast that comes together in less than 30 minutes. This is such a simple recipe for one of the Indian flatbreads that anyone can try. Creating perfectly puffed puris may sound tricky, but not impossible. This puri recipe is based on whole wheat flour, and green peas paste dough with some spices. You see, it’s a super simple dough with few ingredients. Roll out the puris evenly so they will puff up really well. 
          Green peas are low in calories than beans, other legumes. Green peas contain healthy amounts of fiber, which helps clean the system and it's a powerhouse of vitamins.
           Puri is an Indian bread which is deep fried and served steaming hot with any curry or stir fry sabji. These soft puris taste great with a pickle or chutney too. It is easy and effortless to prepare these puris. You can make it for lunch, dinner, or have it in anytime.

Ingredients :
  • Green peas 1 cup
  • Whole Wheat Flour 1 ½ cup
  • Green chili 2 strips
  • Salt 1 Tsp
  • Turmeric powder 1 Tsp
  • Red chili powder ½ tbsp
  • Coriander leaves 2 Tbsp, Chopped
  • Carom seeds 1 tsp
  • Veg. Oil for frying







Instructions:
  • In a grinder, jar add green peas and green chilies and grind to make a fine paste.
  • In a mixing bowl add wheat flour, turmeric powder, red chili powder, carom seeds, salt, peas paste and coriander leaves and mix all well 
  • Knead to make a soft dough and if needed, add water.
  • Cover and keep the dough aside for about 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Now, divide the dough into equal portions and roll out small circles. Or you can roll out a big circle and with the help of cutter or bowl cut puris(small circle) from the big circle.
  • Meanwhile, turn on the flame and place a kadai and heat oil for frying the puris, once oil is sufficiently hot, gently slide puri in oil for frying.
  • Press down the puri very gently to make it fluffy, flip the puri and fry until it gets the golden brown color from both sides.
  • Place the fried puri over a plate covered with a kitchen towel. Similarly, fry the rest of the puris as well.
  • Here, scrumptious green peas pooris are ready to serve. Serve hot with pickle, yogurt or with any other curry. Enjoy!!!
Tips To Make Soft and Puffy Puri:
  • Knead the dough until soft and keep cover for at least 10-15 Minutes that helps in making soft puris.
  • While deep frying puris, do not fry them in very hot oil as the puris get the burnt color and lose their perfect flavor.
  • While kneading dough add 1-2 Tsp oil that will add little crisp to the puris.
