Diwali Special : Instant Milk Powder Gulab Jamun

        At my home, Diwali snacks or faral is incomplete without gulab jamuns! What at yours?
        So let's make this Diwali magical and happy with this trusted instant milk powder Gulab Jamun recipe! These juicy gulab jamuns are deceptively easy, you only need 15 minutes to prepare them and a guaranteed hit at any festival/holiday party or any celebration. There’s no feeling quite as blissful as your first bite of gulab jamun. This gulab jamun recipe is a breeze to make and a delight to share and enjoy.


         It is made mainly from milk solids, traditionally from Khoya, which is milk reduced to the consistency of a soft dough. Modern recipes call for powdered milk instead of Khoya. It is often garnished with nuts such as pistachios, almonds to enhance flavor. There are various types of gulab jamun, and every variety has a distinct taste and appearance.

Preparation Time: 15 Minutes; Cooking Time: 15 Minutes.

Ingredients:

  1. Milk Powder 1 cup
  2. All-purpose flour ¼ cup
  3. Semolina 1 tbsp
  4. Milk ¼ cup
  5. Sugar 2 cups
  6. Water 2 cups
  7. Cardamom powder 1 Tsp
  8. Saffron few strands
  9. Lemon juice 1 tbsp
  10. Ghee 2 Tsp
  11. Veg.oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. To Make Sugar Syrup:
    1. In a pan add 2 cups of sugar and 2 cups of water and let it boil for 5-6 minutes or till the sugar syrup turns slightly sticky.
    2. Now, to the syrup add cardamom powder, saffron strands, and lemon juice mix well,
      cover and keep aside
  2. To Make Gulab Jamun:
    1. In a mixing bowl, combine milk powder, all-purpose flour, semolina, ghee, and mix all well.
    2. Now, slowly add milk little by little and knead to make a soft dough.
    3. Make small balls greasing hands with ghee and make sure there are no cracks on balls.
    4. Meanwhile, heat oil and fry the prepared dough balls on low flame stirring in between, till it turns golden brown.
    5. Now, drop the jamuns into the sugar syrup, cover, and rest for 2 to 3 hours.
    6. Tadaa, tempting, and delicious Gulab Jamuns are ready to serve. Enjoy!!!
